Marking its 10-year anniversary, Iron Mountain Hot Springs has introduced a major new wellness expansion: The Sauna Summit, now open as part of the property’s Premier Access (21+) offering. Billed as the most diverse sauna collection in the United States, the new addition also brings Glenwood Springs its first publicly accessible sauna and dedicated plunge pool experience.

The launch signals a significant evolution for the Colorado hot springs destination, positioning contrast therapy the practice of alternating between heat and cold as a core component of its geothermal soaking experience.

While Glenwood Springs has long been synonymous with historic hot springs, the addition of The Sauna Summit fills a noticeable gap in the region’s wellness landscape. The expansion introduces five distinct thermal features and three dedicated plunge pools, allowing guests to explore the scientifically supported benefits of contrast therapy firsthand.

Among the widely recognized benefits: Enhanced muscle recovery, Improved sleep quality, Reduced stress levels, Clearer, healthier-looking skin, Cardiovascular support

Visitors can move through the experience at their own pace or participate in guided circuits curated by the Iron Mountain team. These circuits are designed to target specific wellness goals, including muscle recovery, cardiovascular conditioning, and nervous system regulation.

The Most Diverse Sauna Collection in the U.S.

The Sauna Summit draws inspiration from global bathing traditions, blending architectural authenticity with modern wellness technology. Each sauna environment features distinct temperatures, humidity levels, and elements such as aromatherapy and chromotherapy.

The five featured experiences include:

  • Steam Room: Inspired by the Turkish Hammam tradition, this humid environment is designed to open pores, support skin detoxification, and promote respiratory relief.
  • Traditional Sauna: Modeled after the Finnish barrel sauna, this dry-heat experience is known to stimulate circulation, encourage muscle recovery, and help reduce stress.
  • Red Light Clay Sauna: Drawing from the South Korean Hanjeungmak tradition, this radiant heat sauna incorporates red light therapy to support detoxification, joint comfort, and cellular recovery.
  • Aromatherapy Sauna: Inspired by the Russian Banya, this herbal-infused heat experience is intended to boost circulation, ease muscle tension, and calm the nervous system.
  • Salt Sauna: Influenced by Polish salt rooms, this mineral-rich air environment supports respiratory health, skin balance, and deep relaxation.

Three dedicated plunge pools complement the heat experiences, creating a purpose-built environment for intentional contrast therapy cycles.

Leadership Perspective on the Expansion

“When we acquired Iron Mountain Hot Springs six years ago, the vision was to create a truly outstanding wellness attraction in America,” said Rob Kramer, Co-Founder of WorldSprings and Managing Partner of Off Road Capital. “The WorldSprings expansion completed in 2023, followed by the opening of The Sauna Summit, accomplishes that objective.”

Aaron McCallister, General Manager of Iron Mountain Hot Springs, emphasized the practical wellness focus behind the new concept.

“The Sauna Summit is designed to give guests practical, proven ways to support their holistic well-being,” McCallister said. “By introducing sauna culture, cold plunges, and intentional contrast therapy, we’re expanding the experience beyond soaking and offering new ways for people to recover, reset, and feel their best.” “It’s purpose-built for guests to partake in contrast therapy and settle into an open, inviting space that encourages connection and shared time. Guests can reset their bodies through intentional wellness experiences or simply spend the day together in a beautiful setting.”

Designed as a “slopes-to-soak” experience, The Sauna Summit strengthens Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ position as a must-visit Colorado attraction and wellness-forward destination. The expansion blends ancient bathing traditions with contemporary hospitality, catering to winter sports enthusiasts, outdoor adventurers, and year-round wellness travelers alike.

The project also reflects the continued growth of the WorldSprings portfolio, whose broader mission centers on making accessible, effective wellness experiences available across the United States.
