Autumn arrives differently at Park Hotel Tokyo. Rather than simply marking the change of season, the hotel is turning its 25th-floor atrium into a meeting point for contemporary art, colour and Japanese aesthetics with its latest ART colours exhibition, Art That Ignites the Senses in the Richness of Autumn.
Running through November 15, 2026, the exhibition brings together paintings, sculpture and mixed-media works from 15 galleries across Ginza, giving visitors an opportunity to experience contemporary Japanese art within one of Tokyo’s most distinctive art-focused hotel environments.
For the third consecutive time, Ginza Galleries serves as curator of the ART colours exhibition. The organisation brings together around 40 galleries from Ginza, one of Japan’s most established gallery districts, and has selected a diverse group of works for Park Hotel Tokyo’s summer-to-autumn presentation.

The exhibition takes its cue from the idea of kehai – an unseen presence or subtle sense of something that exists beyond what is immediately visible. The works explore what can emerge when visitors look beyond surface appearances, ranging from pieces with humour and charm to works carrying a sharper or more provocative edge.
That variety is part of the experience. Rather than presenting a single artistic language, the exhibition encourages visitors to move between different approaches to colour, form and material, discovering the ideas and emotions embedded within each work along the way.
Among the participating artists is U-ku, whose work explores the relationship between involuntariness and decision-making. Takuma Shiratani translates the principles of origami into three-dimensional forms, while Takashi Seto brings the traditional Japanese technique of yuzen dyeing into a contemporary artistic context.
The exhibition also has a particularly close connection to the hotel itself through artist Takeshi Sato, whose work is represented in the exhibition. Sato is also the creator of Park Hotel Tokyo’s Midnight Tokyo Artist Room, where the guest room becomes an artwork in its own right.
That connection reflects the hotel’s broader philosophy. Park Hotel Tokyo has long approached hospitality through the idea of living with art, creating an environment where artworks are not confined to a conventional gallery setting but become part of the experience of staying and moving through the property.
Here, the atrium provides a different kind of gallery space. With Tokyo extending beyond the hotel, the works can be experienced alongside the city and the changing season, creating a setting where contemporary art and Japanese sensibility naturally intersect.
For travellers interested in Tokyo beyond its familiar cultural landmarks, the exhibition offers an easy entry point into the city’s contemporary art scene, particularly through the involvement of galleries from Ginza. It also reflects the richness of autumn itself – a season defined by shifting colour, texture and atmosphere.
Visitors do not need to be hotel guests to experience the exhibition. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the presentation is free and accessible to the public through November 15, 2026.
At Park Hotel Tokyo, autumn becomes more than a backdrop. It becomes something to look at, interpret and experience – one artwork at a time.
