Orlando is gearing up for one of its most dynamic summer seasons yet, with a packed calendar of headline concerts, immersive theme park experiences, vibrant festivals and major sporting events. Recently ranked the No. 1 Summer Travel Destination for 2026 by WalletHub, the city continues to expand its appeal with a blend of entertainment, innovation and family-friendly offerings.

From nighttime water park takeovers to character-driven experiences and international football fixtures, Orlando’s summer programming is designed to cater to families, music enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

New Attractions and Experiences Across Orlando

Theme Park Highlights

At Universal Orlando Resort, seasonal favorites return alongside ongoing expansions:

  • Volcano Bay Nights runs select evenings from May 3 to Aug. 21, featuring shorter wait times, live DJs, themed treats and DreamWorks character meet-and-greets.
  • The Universal Legacy Store reopens at CityWalk in late April with retro-inspired merchandise and photo opportunities.
  • Guests can continue exploring Universal Epic Universe, the destination’s newest theme park with more than 50 attractions across five immersive worlds.

Over at Walt Disney World Resort, summer programming is anchored by the return of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER (May 26–Sept. 8), introducing new family-focused experiences:

  • At Animal Kingdom, Bluey’s Wild World invites guests to meet Bluey and Bingo while exploring Australian wildlife.
  • Magic Kingdom debuts Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue, a Toy Story-themed interactive show.
  • EPCOT hosts GoofyCore, a high-energy dance and game experience.
  • Hollywood Studios premieres Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, an interactive stage show for younger audiences.

Additional updates include enhancements to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and a refreshed Soarin’ Across America experience celebrating the United States’ 250th anniversary.

Hollywood Studios will also debut a new Millennium Falcon mission in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, followed by The Magic of Disney Animation later in summer and the launch of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets.

Meanwhile, Disney H2O Glow After Hours returns to Typhoon Lagoon (June 2–Sept. 5), adding new character appearances and nighttime aquatic entertainment.

At United Parks & Resorts properties:

  • Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice debuts at SeaWorld Orlando, blending Arctic-themed rides with real-world encounters featuring beluga whales and walruses.
  • Bands, Brew & BBQ (July 4–Aug. 23) combines live music with classic American cuisine.
  • AquaGlow transforms Aquatica Orlando into a neon-lit nighttime experience from May 15 to Sept. 26.

Beyond the Parks

Outside the major resorts, new entertainment options continue to expand:

  • The Great Big Game Show brings a TV-style interactive gaming experience to Orlando, complete with live hosts and rotating mini-games.
  • The iconic Blue Man Group returns with a custom-built venue at ICON Park, delivering its signature mix of music, art and audience interaction.

Summer Festivals and Cultural Events

Orlando’s cultural calendar is equally packed:

  • Harry P. Leu Gardens marks its 65th anniversary with Legacy in Bloom through May 31.
  • The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival returns May 12–25 with over 1,000 performances across comedy, theatre and dance.
  • Gatorland hosts its 7th annual Gatorpalooza Weekend (May 30–31), featuring live music, vendors and family-friendly entertainment.
