Marriott International and Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL), the parent company behind The Fern Hotels & Resorts, have announced significant growth milestones for the newly launched Series by Marriott brand in India, with 75 hotels now signed and 50 properties already operational across the country.
The rapid expansion achieved in less than six months since the brand debuted in November 2025 has added more than 3,556 rooms to Marriott International’s India portfolio, reinforcing the country’s strategic importance in the global rollout of the Series by Marriott collection.
The collaboration marks one of Marriott’s fastest-growing regional brand expansions to date, with India serving as the flagship market for the collection’s long-term international growth strategy.
“We launched Series by Marriott in India with the intention of creating a scalable brand that combines speed, efficiency and regional authenticity,” said Kiran Andicot. “Achieving 75 signed hotels and 50 operational properties in under six months validates that strategy. India is not just the launch market for the brand – it is proving the model works.”
Series by Marriott was introduced as a regionally inspired collection brand designed to bring established local hotel operators into the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem while maintaining their unique identity and regional character.
Under the founding agreement with CHPL, The Fern Hotels & Resorts has helped establish a broad footprint for the brand across 43 cities in India, spanning Tier 1 metropolitan centers, emerging Tier 2 and Tier 3 destinations, and popular leisure markets.
According to Suhail Kannampilly, the operational pace has exceeded initial projections, driven by strong owner interest and growing demand for high-quality branded hospitality offerings in India. “The real achievement is not only the number of signed hotels, but the speed at which properties are opening and delivering guest experiences,” Kannampilly said. “The combination of The Fern’s regionally rooted hospitality approach and Marriott International’s global systems, distribution capabilities and loyalty network has resonated strongly with both travelers and hotel owners.”
Series by Marriott is aimed at what Marriott describes as the “global domestic” traveler guests seeking internationally recognized standards while still wanting authentic local experiences. The collection focuses on core hospitality essentials including reliable service, comfortable accommodations, dependable Wi-Fi connectivity and destination-driven design elements.
Each property retains a localized identity shaped by its destination, whether through architecture, culinary experiences or cultural influences. The brand portfolio ranges from heritage-inspired stays in Rajasthan to business-focused hotels in rapidly developing urban centers.
Several properties within the collection also feature amenities such as fitness centers, breakfast offerings, meeting facilities and event spaces, allowing the brand to cater to both leisure and business travelers.
Current operational hotels under The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott include:
- The Fern Mumbai, Goregaon, Series by Marriott
- The Fern Jaipur, Series by Marriott
- The Fern Habitat Goa, Candolim, Series by Marriott
- Rakabi The Fern Igatpuri, Series by Marriott
- The Fern Residency Bengaluru, Seshadripuram, Series by Marriott
The brand is also introducing several guest-focused signature experiences intended to differentiate the collection while reflecting Indian hospitality traditions. These include grab-and-go breakfast boxes for early departures, personalized amenities for solo female travelers, locally inspired evening turndown treats, ceremonial lamp-lighting rituals at dusk, and wellness-inspired bedtime offerings such as soaked almonds, raisins and cumin-infused water.
All participating properties are integrated into the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty ecosystem, enabling guests to earn and redeem points across Marriott International’s global portfolio. Members can also access digital services and personalized travel features through the Marriott Bonvoy App.
The accelerated expansion highlights the growing demand for conversion-friendly hotel models in India, particularly those backed by established global distribution and loyalty platforms while retaining strong regional appeal.
