Kavalan Distillery, Taiwan’s internationally award-winning single malt whisky producer, has announced the release of its 2026 Lunar New Year Limited Edition – Golden Steed & Peonies, alongside a new Kavalan Miniature Whisky Gift Set, marking the Year of the Horse with symbolism, craftsmanship, and premium whisky presentation.
Golden Steed & Peonies: 2026 Lunar New Year Limited Edition
At the heart of the Lunar New Year release is a 700ml bottle of Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky, matured in a combination of Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and Moscatel sherry casks. Bottled at 40% ABV, the expression delivers layered aromas of dried fruits, caramel and tropical fruit, complemented by a smooth mouthfeel and a deep amber colour, making it suitable for festive celebrations and refined food pairings.

The Golden Steed & Peonies design draws heavily from traditional symbolism. A golden horse represents progress and perseverance, while blooming peonies symbolise wealth, vitality and honour. Flowing gold lines across the packaging echo Taiwan’s mist-covered mountains and highlight Kavalan’s pristine natural water source.
The gift set also includes a custom Kavalan tulip-shaped nosing glass, designed to enhance aroma concentration and elevate the overall whisky tasting experience.
The Golden Steed & Peonies Lunar New Year Gift Set will be released across multiple international markets, including Vietnam, Hong Kong and Macau, Singapore, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, the United States, Guam, South Africa and Nigeria, as well as selected European markets such as Germany, the Czech Republic, Eastern Europe and Cyprus.

In addition to its Lunar New Year release, Kavalan Distillery has unveiled the Kavalan Miniature Whisky Gift Set, a curated selection of four of the brand’s most acclaimed single malt whiskies. The set includes four 50ml bottles, each bottled at 54% ABV, showcasing Kavalan’s signature tropical fruit character across different cask types.
The miniature collection will launch from early 2026 at major travel retail locations across Asia, including international airports in South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.

- Brandy Oak Single Malt (50ml / 54% ABV): Matured in selected French and European brandy casks, this expression reveals elegant aromas of peach, strawberry and sweet lychee, leading to a complex palate and a long, harmonious finish.
- Port Oak Single Malt (50ml / 54% ABV): Port wine cask maturation imparts rich sweetness and a full-bodied texture, combining fruity depth, gentle wood influence and honeyed undertones for a smooth yet layered drinking experience.
