Banyan Group has officially opened the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, marking the company’s long-awaited homecoming and its 100th milestone property. Developed in partnership with Mandai Wildlife Group, the resort is the first-ever hospitality offering set within a world-class wildlife and nature destination located in the heart of a capital city.
Eddy See, President and CEO of Banyan Group, says the debut is “a deeply meaningful homecoming,” highlighting the brand’s commitment to design-led, sustainable hospitality. Mandai Wildlife Group’s CEO Bennett Neo adds that the resort enhances the Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s vision by encouraging guests to stay longer and fully experience the 126-hectare precinct.
A Nature-Integrated Rainforest Retreat
Spread across 4.6 hectares of native greenery, the resort’s biophilic design blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Mature trees including a 12-metre Rain Tree—have been preserved, while elevated treehouses inspired by the Purple Millettia seed pods overlook the Upper Seletar Reservoir. The five-storey main building features rainforest-facing rooms and suites, adorned with artwork by Singaporean artist Donna Ong and antique lithographs of native wildlife.
Designed with sustainability at the forefront, rooms offer natural ventilation, energy monitoring, and rainwater harvesting. The resort is Singapore’s first Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy (SLE) certified resort.
Dining, Wellness & Celebrations
The signature restaurant, Forage, delivers a “Harvest to Table” experience with ingredients grown in the rooftop edible garden and sourced from local producers. Guests enjoy panoramic views of the reservoir, access to a dedicated observation deck, and a menu guided by rainforest-inspired culinary techniques.
On the rooftop, a pool with unobstructed reservoir views, the Discovery Forest, and an edible garden with more than 15 native herbs highlight the resort’s nature-led approach. The Meranti Ballroom serves as a unique venue for events, while Banyan Tree Spa offers treatments in pavilions surrounded by lush rainforest, including three pods inspired by the scales of the native Sunda pangolin.
Nature-Inspired Experiences for Families
A rainforest-themed playground featuring structures inspired by cannonball fruits, buttress roots, and giant leaves encourages immersive nature play. Guests also enjoy easy access to all attractions within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, including the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Bird Paradise, River Wonders, and the new Curiosity Cove indoor playscape.
Stays at Mandai Rainforest Resort unlock special rates and exclusive programmes, from family-friendly wildlife activities to wellbeing sessions and immersive encounters across the precinct.
