Banyan Tree is strengthening its focus on holistic wellbeing with an expanded lineup of retreats, immersive spa programmes and expert-led experiences across its global portfolio. The initiative builds on the success of the Banyan Tree Connections programme, first introduced in 2025, and introduces new small-group retreats, additional destinations for private wellbeing journeys, visiting practitioner residencies and a global collaboration with yoga brand Manduka.

The expanded programme reflects the hospitality brand’s long-standing commitment to wellness-driven travel experiences rooted in mindfulness, cultural traditions and nature.

“For more than three decades, Banyan Tree has championed a holistic approach to wellbeing, where environments, rituals and traditions come together to nurture presence and personal renewal,” said Paul Hawco, Executive Director, Integrated Wellbeing at Banyan Group.

He added that the evolution of Banyan Tree Connections responds to travellers’ increasing desire for deeper human connection and meaningful travel experiences. The programme draws inspiration from the brand’s 8 Pillars of Wellbeing philosophy, with activities designed to encourage movement, reflection, learning and reconnection across Banyan Tree destinations worldwide.

New Multi-Day Connections Retreats

Banyan Tree is introducing Connections Retreats, a new series of immersive multi-day wellbeing journeys designed for small groups. The retreats combine mindfulness practices, movement, meditation and local cultural traditions, with programmes shaped by the natural setting of each destination.

  • Montenegro Retreat with Nicole Marty: One of the first retreats will take place from 21–25 May 2026 at Mamula Island by Banyan Tree.
Led by Paris-based yoga teacher and Manduka ambassador Nicole Marty, the retreat focuses on reconnecting with oneself, others and nature. Set against views of Montenegro’s Boka Bay, the programme includes grounding yoga sessions, mindful movement and restorative practices that blend Hatha and Vinyasa styles with guided stillness and reflection.
  • Bali Retreat with Nadya Hutagalung: A second retreat will be held from 29 October to 2 November 2026 at Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape.
The retreat will be led by sustainability advocate and wellness facilitator Nadya Hutagalung. Inspired by the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, the experience integrates meditation, sound healing, mindful movement and guided discussions designed to reconnect participants with themselves, their community and the natural environment.

Banyan Tree Connections Expands to More Destinations

The new retreats build on the original Banyan Tree Connections programme launched in 2025, which offers private wellbeing immersions designed for two people whether partners, friends or family members.

The experience blends mindfulness practices, movement and shared rituals to support both personal balance and relationship wellbeing.

Initially available at four destinations: Banyan Tree Anji, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Phuket, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru – the programme will expand from May 2026 to eight additional locations, including: Banyan Tree AlUla, Banyan Tree Dubai, Banyan Tree Lang Co, Banyan Tree Nanjing Garden Expo, Banyan Tree Samui, Banyan Tree Bintan, Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape. The programme will also be introduced at Banyan Tree Guangzhou Jiulong Lake when the resort opens later this year.

Visiting Practitioners Bring Global Wellness Expertise

Banyan Tree is also expanding its Visiting Practitioner Programme, inviting internationally recognised wellness experts for limited-time residencies at selected resorts.

These sessions range from workshops and day retreats to personalised consultations, allowing guests to explore different healing modalities and wellbeing practices.

  • Yoga Residency in Krabi. From 11–13 March, yoga instructor Yuttana Poncharoen will host sessions at Banyan Tree Krabi. Known as Jimmy, Poncharoen brings decades of experience teaching Vinyasa yoga. His sessions focus on “conscious flow”, combining breathwork, movement and awareness to help participants cultivate resilience and mental clarity while reconnecting with nature.
  • Mamula Island Residency with Florence Piers. From 3–24 August, Florence Piers will lead a residency at Mamula Island by Banyan Tree. A certified kinesiologist and yoga instructor trained in India, Piers will guide Vinyasa, Gentle and Yin Yoga sessions alongside personalised consultations. The programme focuses on emotional resilience, stillness and mindful self-awareness.

Partnership with Manduka Strengthens Wellbeing Focus

As part of its expanded wellness ecosystem, Banyan Tree has entered a global partnership with Manduka, widely recognised for its performance yoga mats and accessories. Manduka equipment will be integrated into wellness facilities across selected resorts, while affiliated instructors will lead retreats and practitioner residencies within the programme.

Wellbeing Sanctuaries Across Banyan Tree Resorts

Guests seeking restorative travel experiences can also stay in Banyan Tree Wellbeing Sanctuaries, specialised room categories available across several resorts worldwide.

These accommodations feature curated sleep rituals, wellness-focused cuisine and daily destination-inspired activities. Thoughtfully designed in-room amenities support mindfulness, relaxation and gentle movement, allowing travellers to incorporate wellbeing into every aspect of their stay.
