The Itoshima coast in Fukuoka Prefecture is set to welcome a refreshed lifestyle retreat as seven x seven Itoshima reopens on April 1, 2026. Operated by fav hospitality group Co., Ltd. (FHG), part of Kasumigaseki Capital Group and led by President Hidekazu Ogata, the property will relaunch under a new concept: “Sunset Beach Club.”
The relaunch introduces a newly built Finnish-style sauna and pool area, alongside a reimagined dining lounge spotlighting creative cuisine crafted with locally sourced Itoshima ingredients.
Located approximately 45 minutes from Fukuoka Airport, Itoshima offers a serene alternative to the city’s urban energy. Framed by sea, mountains and expansive skies, the region is known for its natural beauty and thriving food culture.
Fresh seafood, mountain produce, seasonal vegetables and artisanal seasonings define Itoshima’s terroir. The hotel’s new “Sunset Beach Club” concept blends food, music, wellness and activities to create a stay that flows gently from morning light to golden-hour sunsets and relaxed evenings.
Element-Inspired Dining Showcasing Itoshima’s Flavours

At the heart of the relaunch is a refreshed dining lounge presenting tapas inspired by natural “elements” — Fire, Water and Earth — expressed through ingredient selection, flavour profiles and cooking techniques.
The menu is curated under the supervision of Chef Mawatari, owner-chef of popular local bar “klootch,” known for inventive dishes built around Itoshima produce. “Taste of Element Flavor Dishes” (Four Tapas) for only ¥6,600 (Tax Included).
The beverage programme is equally considered. Supervised by Mr. Nomura, founder and lead bartender of “The Certain Bar” in Kitakyushu, the selection features Element Flavor-inspired cocktails, mocktails and a curated sake list by local specialist Kawakubo Saketen, highlighting notable labels from across Kyushu.
The breakfast plan offers a choice between bread from a local partner bakery or a Japanese-style grilled salmon set, both served with a salad bar. Designed as an extension of the overall dining concept, breakfast aims to enrich the stay with a thoughtful, locally grounded experience.
Finnish-Style Sauna and Pool Overlooking the Sea

A new Finnish-style sauna and pool area, exclusive to hotel guests, will debut as part of the relaunch. Seamlessly connected to the open lounge and terrace, the wellness space allows guests to alternate between sauna sessions, swimming and relaxation.
The terrace features spacious daybeds, offering uninterrupted views of the sunset over the sea — a defining moment of the Itoshima experience.
Music Curated to the Rhythm of the Day
Music will also play a central role in shaping the stay. Original in-house playlists will accompany each time of day, from calm morning soundscapes to sunset chill-out sessions and evening bar moods. Guest DJs and artists are set to be invited, enhancing the immersive “Sunset Beach Club” atmosphere.
