Samoa has marked a major tourism milestone with the signing of a partnership between Return to Paradise Resort and Radisson Hotel Group, becoming the first fully Samoan-owned and operated resort to collaborate with an international hotel group.
Under the agreement, Return to Paradise Resort will join Radisson Hotel Group’s global portfolio under the Radisson Individuals brand, allowing the resort to maintain its Samoan identity, cultural heritage, and family ownership while benefiting from global distribution, international marketing reach, and commercial support.
Located on the iconic Return to Paradise Beach in Lefaga, the beachfront resort is one of Samoa’s most recognised hospitality landmarks. The property features 117 rooms, including resort-style accommodations and two- and three-bedroom self-contained villas, set within tropical gardens with panoramic coastal views. Guests can dine at the Paradise Kitchen restaurant and Rockpool Bar, both known for showcasing local ingredients and Samoan-inspired flavours. A refurbishment programme is planned as part of the partnership to enhance guest comfort while preserving the resort’s authentic Samoan design.
Aiono Hinauri Petana, Board Chairperson of Return to Paradise Resort Samoa, said the partnership represents an important moment for both the resort and the country.
“This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for our resort and for Samoa. We are proud to remain fully Samoan-owned and operated, staying true to our values, people, and culture, while partnering with one of the world’s most respected hotel groups.”
General Manager and Board Member Afamasaga Ramona Su’a Pale emphasised the importance of protecting the resort’s local legacy.
“It is important to us that Return to Paradise stays locally owned and operated as part of our family legacy. With Radisson Individuals, this is what will happen. We will continue to be Samoan-owned and operated, while benefiting from Radisson’s worldwide marketing profile, and our management and staff will benefit from Radisson’s training and support.”

Speaking on behalf of the Samoa Government, Minister of Finance Mulipola Anarosa Molio’o welcomed the collaboration.
“Return to Paradise is a well-known and much-loved icon in Samoa, and the Government is delighted to see that, as a Radisson Individual, the resort retains its unique Samoan family-style ownership and management.”
Danilo Curcuruto, Director of Development for Australasia at Radisson Hotel Group, said the partnership reflects the purpose of the Radisson Individuals brand.
“This collaboration supports and celebrates Samoan ownership, culture, and hospitality, which remain firmly at the heart of the resort. Samoa is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich destinations in the Pacific, and we look forward to supporting the resort team as they share this incredible island with even more travellers.”
