Few settings in Hong Kong change as dramatically over the course of a day as Victoria Harbour. At Regent Hong Kong, that ever-changing view has now become the centrepiece of a new venue designed for celebrations, private gatherings and significant occasions.

The hotel has introduced The Terrace, a new approximately 290-square-metre waterfront space positioned above the harbour, combining a refined indoor setting with an open-air terrace and uninterrupted views towards the Hong Kong Island skyline.

Rather than treating the harbour simply as scenery, the venue is designed around it. Daylight moves across the water before giving way to the glow of the city after dark, allowing the character of an event to change naturally with its surroundings.

The Terrace reflects Regent Hong Kong’s approach to contrast, bringing contemporary architecture together with a warmer, more intimate atmosphere. Its covered and open-air areas can be adapted according to the occasion, while carefully considered sightlines keep Victoria Harbour at the heart of the experience.

With capacity for up to 250 guests for cocktail receptions and 108 guests for seated banquets, the space is designed to accommodate a range of occasions without losing its sense of intimacy.

For weddings, that flexibility creates the possibility of moving between different moods throughout the celebration. Couples can exchange vows against the harbour during the day before continuing into an evening reception framed by the illuminated Hong Kong skyline.

The venue can also be tailored around the details that make a wedding personal, from floral design and room layouts to menus, beverage pairings and smaller touches that reflect the couple’s story. The indoor-outdoor configuration adds another layer, allowing guests to experience the changing atmosphere of the harbour as the celebration progresses.

Beyond weddings, The Terrace expands Regent Hong Kong’s offering for private and corporate occasions. Private dinners, milestone celebrations, VIP receptions, product launches and brand experiences can all take advantage of the venue’s clean architectural lines and open connection to the waterfront.

For brands in particular, the space offers a backdrop that requires little embellishment. The skyline provides an immediate sense of place, while the adaptable layout allows event designers to create more immersive environments around product presentations, hospitality experiences or executive gatherings.

The setting also gives corporate occasions a different rhythm from a conventional ballroom. Guests can move between the sheltered interior and open air, with the harbour providing a constantly changing visual element throughout the event.

Behind the scenes, Regent Hong Kong’s wedding and events specialists work with the culinary team to shape each occasion around its purpose and personality. Bespoke menus and beverage pairings can be developed alongside personalised layouts, styling and service, allowing the experience to feel cohesive from the initial planning stages through to the final farewell.

The result is a venue that relies as much on its setting as on its design. Hong Kong’s skyline, harbour and changing light become part of the experience rather than something viewed from a distance.

At The Terrace, Regent Hong Kong has created a new way to celebrate above Victoria Harbour – one where the architecture provides the frame, but the city itself supplies the atmosphere.
