Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is expanding its global experiential portfolio with the launch of six new curated journeys under its “Special Happens…” series, reinforcing the brand’s focus on immersive, culturally rooted luxury travel.
Spanning destinations across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, the latest additions are designed to connect guests more deeply with local environments, traditions, and storytelling. The experiences fall under four thematic pillars: After Dark, In the Wild, Around the Table, and In the Spotlight each offering a distinct lens into destination-led travel.
According to Chief Brand Officer Claudia Kozma Kaplan, the expansion reflects a broader ambition: to create meaningful, memory-driven travel moments that blend authenticity with elevated service.
Immersive Travel “In the Wild”

Among the headline additions is a private helicopter journey over one of the world’s most iconic landmarks at Fairmont Beijing. The experience traces the sweeping expanse of the Great Wall of China from above, paired with a two-night stay, exclusive lounge access, and curated dining, including a chef-led culinary experience at CUT by Chef Peter Kang.
In Canada, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge introduces an Indigenous-led “Foraging Flight,” where guests join Knowledge Keeper Lauren Moberly on a helicopter expedition through the Canadian Rockies. The journey blends storytelling, seasonal foraging, and a chef-prepared tasting menu built around ingredients gathered during the day.
Meanwhile, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club offers the “Acacia Horizon Experience,” a guided wildlife encounter set within the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. Guests are led to a secluded viewing deck, where sightings of rhinos, giraffes, and plains wildlife are paired with a refined outdoor dining experience.
Elevated Evenings “After Dark”

Nighttime takes center stage with a series of culturally immersive after-hours experiences. At Fairmont Wuhan, guests can explore the historic Yellow Crane Tower in traditional Hanfu attire, complete with a private photo session and an evening light-and-sound performance that merges ancient heritage with modern technology.
In Morocco, Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier will host a one-night-only solar eclipse event on August 12. Set against Tangier’s skyline, the evening combines live jazz, curated cocktails, and a celestial-inspired tasting menu timed with the rare astronomical phenomenon.
Scotland’s rugged coastline provides the backdrop for a stargazing retreat at Fairmont St Andrews. Guests are guided through a private astronomical session using advanced telescopes before enjoying a chef-led dinner under the stars. The overnight experience concludes with rare Scottish whisky and locally inspired confections served alongside uninterrupted views of the North Sea.
A Continued Focus on Experiential Luxury
The new “Special Happens…” offerings underscore Fairmont’s strategy to move beyond traditional hospitality into experience-driven travel. Each itinerary is designed to be bookable and highly personalized, combining access, storytelling, and culinary elements to create what the brand describes as “must-try” journeys.
From helicopter expeditions and wildlife immersion to celestial dining and cultural performances, the latest collection positions Fairmont at the forefront of experiential luxury where travel is defined as much by connection and context as it is by comfort.
